Planar
Introduction
Planar is a platform game built by Tim32, for fun. It is entirly free (source inclusive) and they hope you enjoy it. The current 'commercial' version is 'Denim Lathe', using the 1.0.4069.36747 game engine. The most recent version includes a faster more regulated Executable.
Denim Lathe Notes
The only components to have changed since Denim Ratchet is the Engine, but this has changed alot. Important points are:
- Plug(in) support (see the Documentation Dev Guide)
- Numerous optimizations for speed, notably in Collision Detection routines
- Proper FrameRate regulation (about 55FPS)
- Improved body State system (more flexible)
- Preloaded animg retreival from bodies
- More named line functions (polys provide incremental naming)
- Sound System is now dynamically loaded from a DLL (though still doesn't work), which can be changed to suit platform (shipped is for Windows only and uses WMPLib)
